Principal's Message

Hello Dragons! This is my second year serving as Oak Chan's Principal and my nineteenth year in education. As a teacher, I learned the importance of coherence and clarity. When things make sense and they connect, students learn better.

That's why I am making clarity and coherence my focuses for this year. You will see the OC staff working to strengthen our practices and make what we are doing clear to students and families. Components of this plan include developing school-wide practices for how we review student performance data and then provide systemic multi-tiered support to students; increasing avenues for student, family, and community input; and helping our students make meaningful contributions and connections to the school throughout the school year. 

A big part of what makes OC great is the community that surrounds it. I hope you will join me in my journey toward continuous improvement by helping out in our classrooms, joining our site committees, and attending my monthly Coffee with the Principal meetings.
